Why Coaches Choose the IJaS Training Session Library

🏟️ Design intentional, game-representative training sessions.

Save time with ready-to-use activities.

🔁 Continuously updated content to keep sessions fresh.

Training should be representative of the game.

This is the starting point of IJaS Methodology.

The IJaS Training Session Library includes training session activities I designed and use using game situations as the starting point.

In this way, players are exposed to game-like training on a consistent basis.

Maximize player development through game-like training environments.

HOw is it organiSed?

The activities are organised into distinct moments of the game.

See the explanation and examples below:

  • These are small-number, repetition-oriented environments (1v1 up to ~6v4) designed to sharpen a specific behavior, action, or sequence. Think 2v1s, 3v2s, or 4v3s used to accelerate the repetition-to-learning loop.

    Used for:

    • isolating core behaviors

    • repetition without heavy context

    • sharpening decision + execution

    • preparing tools for situational play

    SEE EXAMPLE ACTIVITY

  • These are bi-directional possession environments used to activate rhythm, scanning, orientation, and circulation before entering more tactical or contextual work.

    Used for:

    • activation + rhythm

    • body orientation + scanning

    • tempo + ball circulation

    • creating/supporting angles

    SEE EXAMPLE ACTIVITY

  • These are contextual, field-specific environments that simulate real football moments (e.g., narrow build-up, recovering behind the ball, scoring under pressure). They often include starting positions, zones, and transition phases.

    Used for:

    • connecting principles to real moments

    • buildup/pressing/scoring situations

    • positional responsibilities

    • structured problem solving

    SEE EXAMPLE ACTIVITY

  • These are competitive games (usually even numbers) with light conditions, incentives, or constraints that shape behavior without scripting the moment. Both teams attack/defend and attempt to score.

    Used for:

    • bridging training to match play

    • tactical incentives without over-structure

    • scanning-speed/tempo/transition behavior

    • playing to score
